HYDRAA reclaims over 15 acres of government land worth Rs 3,000 crore in Miyapur
Hyderabad: In a major anti-encroachment drive, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has reclaimed and safeguarded government land worth over Rs 3,000 crore in Miyapur, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The large-scale operation was carried out in Maktha Mahboobpet village of Serilingampally mandal in Rangareddy district, following complaints of illegal occupation and fraudulent registrations.
Over 15 acres reclaimed in Survey No. 44
HYDRAA officials confirmed that more than 15 acres of prime government land in Survey No. 44 were secured during the latest phase of the operation. The land, located parallel to the Miyapur–Bachupally main road, had been under threat of encroachment for several years.
Action based on public complaints
The agency had earlier received complaints through its public grievance mechanism alleging illegal occupation of government land in the same survey number. Acting on these complaints, HYDRAA had previously taken possession of five acres in the area.

Previous encroachments removed
As part of earlier enforcement, HYDRAA had also demolished 18 illegally constructed sheds spread across nearly 200 metres on the bund of a lake adjoining the Miyapur–Bachupally road.
Fresh probe into fraudulent registrations
The latest action followed renewed scrutiny triggered by reports of illegal registrations of government land and the suspension of a concerned sub-registrar. HYDRAA conducted a detailed inquiry and found attempts to grab as much as 43 acres of government land using forged and fabricated documents.
Case registered against key accused
Officials revealed that an individual named Imran had allegedly encroached upon nearly 1.5 acres of government land in Survey No. 44 by misusing land documents belonging to Survey No. 159. A criminal case has already been registered against him.
Land secured with fencing and signboards
The reclaimed government land has now been fenced off to prevent further encroachments. HYDRA has also erected official boards clearly identifying the property as government land.
Commissioner’s directions
The operation was carried out as per the directions of HYDRAA Commissioner A. V. Ranganath, who has reiterated that the agency will continue strict action against land grabbers and fraudulent practices, especially in high-value urban and peri-urban areas.
HYDRAA officials said similar operations will continue across the Hyderabad region to protect public assets and deter illegal land occupations.
