Hyderabad: Following a series of complaints, the enforcement teams of HYDRAA carried out a demolition drive on unauthorised structures in Shamshabad, Ranga Reddy district on Monday, amid tight police security.
HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has said that the agency received an encroachment complaint about a 998 yards park in Southern Paradise (Sri Sampath Nagar) and another complaint pertaining to the construction of a compound wall by encroaching upon about 33-foot road in Ootpally village of Shamshabad mandal in Cape Town-2 Colony.
After confirming that the complaints are real, the HYDRA carried out a demolition drive and removed a temporary shed and fencing around the park. Apart from that, the teams also demolished the compound wall constructed in Cape Town -2 Colony, he said.
Ranganath also cautioned to take severe measures against anyone who continues to trespass on government property, such as parks, canals, ponds, or land. He called upon the public to lodge their grievances directly with him during the Prajavani conducted at his office, Buddha Bhavan, every Monday.
Meanwhile, residents of Sri Sampath Nagar in Shamshabad municipality expressed relief and joy after the HYDRAA reclaimed their park from encroachment. After weeks of citizens' dissatisfaction, HYDRAA's intervention returned the space to the community.
