Hyderabad: HYDRAA clears encroachments in Hyderguda, frees 1,094 sq yards for public use
Hyderabad: HYDRAA on Tuesday cleared illegal structures on a public land in Hyderguda, Rajendranagar mandal of Ranga Reddy district, restoring over 1,094 square yards of space intended for community use.
Encroachment on public utility land
The AG Office Cooperative Housing Society had developed a layout in 2001 under the name Nalanda Nagar Colony, approved by HUDA.
However, those who sold the original land later claimed that a portion of the adjacent area also belonged to them and encroached upon 1,004 square yards of land earmarked for public amenities.

Complaint leads to action
Concerned over the loss of their designated public utility space, representatives of Nalanda Nagar Colony complained to HYDRAA. Following a thorough inquiry in coordination with revenue and municipal authorities, HYDRA confirmed that 1,094 square yards of land belonged to Nalanda Nagar Colony.
Demolition amid resistance
On Tuesday, HYDRAA officials demolished the encroaching compound wall and removed a temporary shed constructed on the site. During the clearance, the encroachers attempted to resist and staged a protest. Rajendranagar police intervened and took them into custody to maintain law and order.
Residents express relief
Residents of Nalanda Nagar Colony expressed happiness over the removal of encroachments, stating that the reclaimed land will now be used for a park and other essential public facilities as originally planned.
