HYDRAA's Enforcement Teams demolished unauthorised compound wall in NRI Colony under Kapra municipality

Hyderabad: Enforcement teams from the HYDRAA carried out a demolition drive on unauthorised structures and recovered various land parcels and roads from encroachers in Kapra municipality, Dammaiguda, Rallaguda (Shamshabad mandal), and Defence Colony (Malkajgiri circle).

This action by the HYDRAA comes in the wake of a series of complaints filed by the public about the unauthorised compound walls constructed by the residential colonies to hinder public movement.

In Medchal, the HYDRAA removed the compound wall erected by the NRI colony in Kapra Municipality of Malkajigiri district. This paved the way for four coloniesā€“ Senior Citizen Colony, Shanti Villas, Lakshmi Villas, Gaurinath Puram, Vampuguda Colony and traversing became easy for the public.

Residents of the Senior Citizen Colony stated that to reach the main road leading to Dammaiguda, one had to travel around 3 kilometers in the past, but now only 100 meters is enough. Locals said that Kapra Municipality officials have assured that they will build roads immediately after demolishing the compound walls built across the roads.

At Rallaguda village of Shamshabad mandal, the HYDRA removed a compound wall erected across the roads preventing access to the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Similarly, the HYDRA also removed the 50-meter compound wall erected across the Army Officers' Colony at Sainikpuri, Malkajigiri Circle and made way for the public.

HYDRA took action after the residents of Rallaguda Village layouts complained to HYDRA that the construction of 155 meters long embankment blocked access to the service road.

HYDRAA reclaims 1,200 yards in Malkajgiri

On the other hand, the HYDRAA received complaints of encroachment of public land in Survey No. 218/1 in Defense Colony under Malkajigiri Circle. Around 1,200 yards of land was encroached by the association members and converted them as plots.

Following the complaints from the residents of Defense Colony, the HYDRAA questioned the local authorities and confirmed that five plots are sold by them and some are under their control. The enforcement teams of HYDRAA demolished the encroachments and placed them in the name of HYDRAA, declaring the encroachments as GHMC land for public use.

Similarly, the HYDRAA also removed a compound wall built around the government premises behind the Holistic Hospital on Kukatpally - Nizampet road.

An investigation was initiated following an ex-soldier's accusation that he had a 300-yard house plot assigned to him in the same location, which had also been encroached upon and found that about 1,253 yards of government land was encroached. With this, the HYDRAA removed the unauthorised compound wall built around the encroached area.
