IT minister KTR, actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna to attend Ilaiyaraaja concert in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The city will witness a spectacular tribute performance dedicated to the great music composer, Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, and a live concert by the Maestro himself at Gachibowli stadium on 25 and 26 February.

The event’s organizers, Hyderabad Talkies, met K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana minister for municipal administration and urban development, and Srinivas Goud, state minister for culture and sports, and extended a formal invitation to them.


The team also met and invited actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna to attend the concert. The concert promises to be spectacular.

“It’s a terrific opportunity to be on stage with maestro Ilaiyaraaja to felicitate and be part of paying respect to him. He has been the music director for many of my movies and the music was super-duper smashes,” said Chiranjeevi.


Nagarjuna said, “I was really honored because many of my musical hits are from Shri. Ilaiyaraaja and the music from my film ‘Geetanjali’ went on to become one of his biggest songs.”



Tribute concert

A tribute concert is planned for 25 February, one day before Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s live performance. The tribute performance will include music directors Anup Rubens and Vishal Chandrasekhar, as well as renowned Hyderabad bands and vocalists paying tribute to Maestro’s incredible musical journey. It promises to be a remarkable celebration of the great composer’s distinguished career and significant contribution to music.

Ilaiyaraaja’s live concert

On 26 February, Ilaiyaraaja will perform live at Gachibowli stadium. The performance will feature an orchestra of 80 musicians on stage and is expected to draw over 20,000 people to watch the stunning event and experience the magic of his music. His live performance tickets are almost sold out.

“We have elevated the bar once again by inviting the maestro to the city for a live concert to generate a buzz in our city,” said Sainath Goud Malkapuram, founder of Hyderabad Talkies, which is recognized for organizing legendary events such as AR Rahman in 2017 and Arijit Singh in 2019.
