Hyderabad: Forty-one foreigners who are illegally staying in the country have been identified in the Paramount Colony area of Tolichowki. They are being questioned. They were caught during a cordon and search operation conducted in the area on 29 October.

Besides, five suspects who were dealing with transactions related to narcotic substances were detained during the search operation. Also, 29 vehicles—three four-wheelers, a three-wheeler, and 25 two-wheelers—were seized for not having valid documents. The police also obtained an air rifle and some hukka-related substances from the area.

The search operation was conducted after the police received information regarding several foreigners illegally staying in the country even after their permits had expired and their involvement in criminal activities like consumption and possession of narcotic substances.

From 6 a.m to 9:30 a.m on 29 October, the Banjara Hills police conducted a cordon and search operation under the supervision of Joel Davis, deputy commissioner of police, west zone, with 400 police officers.
