Illegal structures in Attapur’s Ambience Fort razed; GHMC warns against violations

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Monday conducted a large-scale demolition drive in Attapur’s Ambience Fort area of Ranga Reddy district, bringing down multiple illegal structures built without valid permissions.

Illegal floors and setback violations razed

GHMC Town Planning officials, accompanied by police deployment, demolished additional floors, encroachments and structures constructed in violation of approved building plans and setback norms.

Several buildings were found to have exceeded the permitted limits, posing safety and civic hazards.

No tolerance for violations: Deputy Commissioner

Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner Surender Reddy issued a firm warning that any construction undertaken without proper authorisation within the circle limits would face strict legal action. He asserted that the civic administration would identify and remove all illegal structures without exception.

Public urged to obtain prior approvals

The deputy commissioner also advised property owners, builders and developers to secure all mandatory approvals before commencing any construction activity. They cautioned that failure to adhere to building regulations would result in demolition and prosecution.

Drive to continue across the city

Authorities stated that such enforcement drives will continue in various parts of the city to curb rampant violations of building norms and ensure planned urban development.
