On 10 and 11 December, the final round of the Indian Racing League is scheduled to be held on the track near Necklace Road in Hyderabad.
"Good afternoon Hyderabad, the IRL is back in the city of pearls. We had a ton of fun last time around and with competitive races coming to the Hyderabad Street Circuit this weekend, things are about to heat up. Be there on the 10th and 11th of December to catch the rush," IRL tweeted.
IRL also informed about the T-shirts given away by star motorists in Chennai. It reassured Hyderabad fans that they too will be given T-shirts.
The tickets for the event are now available in Book My Show. There are two kinds of passes- Day Pass, a single pass for each of the days, and Weekend Pass, a single pass for both days. The prices of the ticket range from Rs. 749 to Rs. 11,999.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police have announced traffic diversions in the city in the wake of the event.
IRL is a city-based racing championship consisting of 6 teams competing in a league-style format. The six teams are Chennai Turbo Riders, Speed Demons Delhi, Bangalore Speedsters, Hyderabad Blackbirds, GodSpeed Kochi, and Goa Aces. Each team comprises 4 drivers, incl 2 Indian and 2 International drivers (incl 1 female driver). The 2.7km race track passes via NTR marg, IMAX road, and around the secretariat complex and completes the loop at the starting point, with 17 curves on the whole.
The inaugural round of IRL was scheduled on 19 and 20 November in Hyderabad. But the matches were canceled when one of the racing cars got damaged. "There was an issue with the brakes of one of the cars getting overheated. This technical glitch has been resolved now. The damage to one car made it mandatory for us to check all the other cars and that safety aspect made us cancel the show," said Sandeep, an IRL official. IRL had also informed that the ticket prices of the two-day event would be refunded to the audience.
