Indira Park walkers complain to HYDRAA about illegal occupation of public spaces
Many residents said that even the land donated by benefactors is not left for public use

HYDRAA gets 46 complaints about encroachments by civil societies, real estate firms
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) received as many as 46 complaints during the Prajavani programme held on Monday.
For the first time, the Prajavani programme was conducted without HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath.
Ranganath was monitoring the rescue operations at the site of the collapse of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) Tunnel in Nagarkurnool District. He is part of the team working on identifying the eight workers feared trapped inside.
Colony welfare associations encroaching on public spaces
Many residents have complained that the areas allocated for parks, roads and public facilities are being encroached on by the representatives of colony welfare societies. Apart from that, the residents also highlighted their hardships due to unauthorised compound walls built by the societies on the roads to prevent outsiders from entering the premises.

Encroachments at Indira Park
Walkers claimed that the occupation of land belonging to Indira Park along Lower Tank Bund Road in Domalguda is proof of the encroachment. It is said that Pingali Venkatram Reddy donated land to Indira Park totalling 76 acres.
Indira Park morning walkers expressed their displeasure during Prajavani, claiming that although the government has set aside a portion of the property for garbage dumping, an electricity substation, and an arena for āsnow wonderlandā, traders are using the remaining land for their own purposes. Similarly, NTR Gardens has remained left disused.
Encroachments at Chettukunta Lake
Several complainants from Ahmedguda village of Keesara mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district under Dummaiguda municipal limits have voiced their displeasure over a real estate companyās construction on a portion of the crematorium and on a nala buffer zone.
Another complaint was from the villagers of Antiapalli village of Shamirpet mandal of Medchal- Malkajgiri district. They urged HYDRAA to save Chettukunta Lake from the encroachers.
The residents of Dundigal Municipalityās Greenhills Housing Colony in Bahadurpally have approached HYDRAA asking to look into the property, set aside for parks, schools and a community hall, being transformed into plots.
Must disclose details of cases currently pending court hearings
Meanwhile, HYDRAA has also asked the public to disclose the details of the alleged encroachments currently being heard in a city civil court or Telangana High Court should be mentioned in the complaint during the public hearing held by HYDRAA every Monday. The officials have warned that action will be taken against the complainants who deliberately conceal the details of pending cases in the civil and high courts.
āThe HYDRAA does not resolve personal disputes or problems between two people. People should complain to HYDRAA only about issues related to the public, especially regarding the encroachment of government lands and also lands meant for public use,ā HYDRAA officials said.
