Hyderabad: The Hyderabad airport will commence operations of international departures from the main terminal from 28 November. The newly-built International Departure Hall is integrated with the existing terminal building. Airlines have been instructed to inform passengers about the development.
The first international flight, SV-753, will take off from the new departure hall at 5:30 p.m. With the opening of this International Departure Hall, the existing Interim International Departure Terminal (IIDT) will be decommissioned. From 28 November 1 p.m., international passengers can now directly arrive at the departures hall instead of going to the erstwhile IIDT.
Passengers are advised to note the change and visit the airport website for further information. In case of any confusion, they can contact the airport information desk at +91-40-66546370.
The airport has made adequate arrangements to disseminate information across all passenger touch points of the airport. Communication is also being done through the airport's social media platforms.
It is to be noted that the airport is undergoing expansion. It is scheduled to be finished in 2023. The RGIA's initial capacity was 1.2 crore passengers per year. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the airport received 2.1 crore passengers in 2019. After the extension is completed, the airport is expected to serve 3.4 million passengers per year.
