Women participants in the 'Embrace Equity' run organised by the SHE teams of Hyderabad City Police on Monday.

Hyderabad: About 5000 women from various walks of life participated in the 'Embrace Equity' run organised by the SHE teams of Hyderabad City Police on Monday. Ahead of International Women's Day on March 8, the SHE teams of Hyderabad City Police organised a 5K and 2K run at People's Plaza on Necklace road.

Telangana Chief secretary Santhi Kumari who attended as chief guest, flagged off the run along with the DGP Anjani Kumar and City police commissioner CV Anand.


Addressing the participants, the chief secretary said that "SHE teams is the name in the entire country in terms of ensuring the safety of women."

The DGP took the opportunity to say that "Hyderabad is the safest city in the country" and retraced the journey and services of SHE teams.

CP Anand, in his speech, motivated the participants and assured them that women's safety always remains a top priority. He lauded the services of the women's protection squad and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the officers in making the event a grand success.

Later the chief guest presented medals to the winners and congratulated them.


During the event, Zumba dance and warm-up sessions held by the women-only band enthused the participants.
