IPL 2025 matches in Hyderabad: Uppal Stadium gears up with heavy police arrangements

Hyderabad: Cricket lovers in Hyderabad rejoice! The schedule for the 18th Edition of TATA IPL-2025 cricket matches has been announced.

The IPL matches will be held in Hyderabad at the Uppal Stadium on specific dates scheduled from March 23 to May 10ā€”Qualifier-1 match on May 20 and Eliminator match on May 21.

Except for the match on March 23, which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm, the rest would be all-night matches.

The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium has approximately 39,000 seating capacity. To avoid any untoward incidents during the match days, a series of unprecedented measures will be taken at Uppal Cricket Stadium for a smooth run of IPL cricket matches.

For the safety and security of players and spectators, elaborate arrangements are being made in coordination with different security units. Four fire tenders with a firefighting squad will also be available on call.

About 2,700 police persons will be deployed. Gate No. 1 will be exclusively for players and VVIPs whereas. Spectators will be allowed through gates as per their ticketing and evacuation plans.

Security arrangements

- A total of 450 CCTV cameras are being installed including places such as vehicle checkpoints and parking to cover the entire area of the stadium. A joint command and control room has been established to monitor all the CCTV footage for taking immediate action.

- Anti-sabotage checks, with the help of BD teams would continue until the match is completed on the day of matches.

- The scanners installed at the stadium will allow police and other security personnel to detect explosives and other prohibited material inside the venue. Bomb disposal team and sniffer dogs will ensure safety in the stadium and parking places.

- Separate teams are being deployed to check the movements of antisocial elements.

- Mobile technicians at each gate will check spectators for mobile phones.

Rules for spectators and vendors

- The spectators will not be allowed to carry objects such as laptops, banners, water bottles, cameras, cigarettes, umbrellas, electronic items, matchboxes, lighters, sharp metal/plastic objects, binoculars, writing pens, batteries, helmets, perfumes, bags and outside eatables.

- A separate SHE Teams/anti-eve-teasing team has been established.

- Vendor supervising teams will control the vendors and their rates as prescribed by the authorities.

- The antecedents of the personnel, who are being engaged by the sponsors/vendors related to this match, are being thoroughly checked and passes with photos were issued to them.

- Exchange of accreditation cards will be strictly prohibited and the replacement of personnel will be not allowed and cases will be booked against the change of passes.

Travel and parking rules

- Adequate signage boards will be erected at different places to make the visitors reach the stadium easily. The HCA/SRH authorities have erected sufficient signage boards at all the main roads from Habsiguda to Uppal, LB Nagar to Uppal, Medipally to Uppal, and Ramanthapur to Stadium with proper arrow marks.

- The viewers will not be allowed to park vehicles on either side of the main road from Genpact to Uppal Ring Road and Uppal Ring Road to Vishal Mart, Ramanthapur, and the vehicles have to be parked at prescribed TSIIC parking areas only.

- Gates will be opened and spectators will be allowed into the stadium three hours before the match.

- Keeping the spectators' count in view, adequate measures will be taken by increasing the number of ambulances from 3 to 5.

- Vendors/hackers will be prohibited outside the stadium. Special teams will be on the move and will watch the movement of illegal sale of tickets in black.

- Sufficient parking spaces for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been identified at five locations, with arrangements made to ensure a free flow of traffic on match day.

- The designated five parking areas are the Build Brick Builders (Penguins) Open Area and the TGIIC-IALA Open Area. Both are located adjacent to EK Minar, opposite Metro Pillar No. 928. Spectators coming from the Habsiguda and Uppal sides will find it convenient to park their four-wheel vehicles here.

- Modern Bakery Open Area, located adjacent to LG Godown towards the industrial lane of IDA Uppal, is designated for four-wheel parking and is convenient for spectators coming from Ramanthapur, LB Nagar and Uppal X Roads.

- DSL Virtue Mall Cellar, located on the road towards Uppal X Roads to Ramanthapur: This area is designated for four-wheel parking and is convenient for spectators coming from Ramanthapur, LB Nagar and Uppal X Roads.

- For the convenience of spectators, several locations along the roads have been identified for two-wheeler parking, including:

NGRI Gate 1 to 3 proceeding from Habsiguda to Uppal X Roads.

Genpact to NGRI proceeding towards Habsiguda.

Genpact to Hindu Office Lane.

DSL Virtue Mall to NSL Arena (both sides).

Modern Bakery to Chemveda Office (both sides).

- Car pass holders for Outer Gates 1 and 2, travelling from the Uppal X Roads and Ramanthapur sides, are advised to enter through the LG Godown checkpost and park their vehicles in Parking Slots A and B inside the stadium.

- Car pass holders for Outer Gates 1 and 2, travelling from Uppal X Roads and Habsiguda sides are advised to enter through the EK Minar Checkpost and park their vehicles in Parking Slots A & B inside the stadium.

- Car pass holders designated to park in E Parking are advised to enter via the Build Brick Builders Open Area to E Parking, located on the west side of the TGIIC-IALA Open Area, and park their vehicles. They should then enter the stadium through Gate 7.

- Physically challenged viewers who have passes are advised to enter from Ramanthapur Road and park their vehicles in B Parking. They may then enter the stadium through Outer Gate No. 3 (Service Entry).

- Commuters who are proceeding from LB Nagar to Ramanthapur and Habsiguda and on their own vehicles (4-wheelers and 2-wheelers) are suggested to take a diversion at Metro Pillar No. 808 before the Nagole U-Turn and proceed towards D Mart, Laxminarayana Colony and Church Road which is connected to road towards Ramanthapur and via Street No.8 to Habsiguda.

- Heavy goods vehicles coming from LB Nagar and Warangal routes will not be allowed towards Habsiguda during match timings and restricted even during their entry times on the match day scheduled. They will be diverted as heavy goods vehicles coming from:

ECIL, Kushaiguda, and Cherlapally towards Uppal X Roads will be diverted via Mallapur Bridge, Chengicherla X (Warangal route).

Vehicles from Chengicherla, Boduppal, and Peerzadiguda towards Uppal X Roads will be diverted via HMDA Bhagyalatha Layout and Nagole to LB Nagar.
