Jaipur Express Attack: Owaisi provides 2BHK to victim Syed Saifuddin’s wife
Saifuddin was the sole breadwinner of the family and was living in a rented house. He was working at a mobile phone shop in Gujarati Galli.
By Kaniza Garari Published on 13 Sep 2023 10:12 AM GMTHyderabad: AIMIM president barrister Asaduddin Owaisi handed over the allotment order for a 2BHK flat to Anjum Shaheen, wife of late Syed Saifuddin alias Syed Saifullah.
Syed Saifuddin, a resident of Nampally in Hyderabad, was one of the four victims who was shot dead by RPF constable Chetan Singh in the moving Jaipur-Mumbai train on July 31. Along with Syed Saifuddin, Chetan Singh (34) also shot dead RPF assistant sub-inspector Tika Ram Meena and passengers Abdul Qadirbhai Mohammed Hussain Bhanpurwala (48), Akhtar Abbas Ali (48), and Sadar Mohammed Hussain.
Later, the investigation revealed that one of the victims killed in the attack hailed from Hyderabad.
After the incident, Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter to reveal the identity of the fourth victim. “The fourth victim of the #JaipurExpressTerrorAttack has been identified as Syed Saifullah. He was a resident of Bazaarghat, Nampally. He is survived by 3 daughters, the youngest is just 6 months old. AIMIM Nampally MLA @Jaffarhusainmla is with the family for the past few hours,” Owaisi tweeted on August 1.
Owaisi also promised financial support, on behalf of the party, to the family of Syed Saifullah.
Saifuddin targetted due to beard
Saifuddin was the sole breadwinner of the family and was living in a rented house. He was working at a mobile phone shop in Gujarati Galli. The MLA claimed that since Saifuddin and two other passengers had a beard, they were targeted by the killer. He said that Saifuddin’s owner escaped as he was clean-shaven.
A video of the incident surfaced that created a grim picture of Chetan’s motives in killing the four people. The video allegedly shows a recording — captured by one of the passengers — of Chetan standing beside the body of the person he had just allegedly shot.
The video claimed to show him speaking incoherently about Pakistan and Indian media and saying that those who want to live in ‘Hindustan’ must support prime minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
GRP commissioner Ravindra Shisve, while speaking to reporters, in Mumbai said that he said the video clip was being examined along with other materials.
“It is too early to jump to any conclusion, and at this stage, it will be premature to comment anything and share any details about the probe,” Shisve had said, adding that police will investigate and examine whatever material they get.
