Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have registered three separate cases against several political leaders for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the ongoing Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election.
The move underscores the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a free, fair and transparent electoral process.
Cases registered against sitting and former MLAs
Two cases have been filed at the Madhuranagar police station against Congress sitting MLAs Beerla Ilaiah (Alair), Jatoth Ram Chander Naik (Doranakal) and Ramdas (Wyra).
Meanwhile, the Borabanda police station registered one case against former MLAs Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Methuku Anand, according to an official statement.
Strict legal action is underway
Authorities have emphasised that strict legal measures are being enforced against anyone violating the election code. Police officials reiterated that adherence to the MCC is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and for conducting elections peacefully in accordance with democratic principles.
