Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to enhance the capacity of the KachegudaāYesvantpurāKacheguda Vande Bharat Express by doubling its coaches to facilitate passengers travelling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Capacity doubled from July 10
The train, which currently runs with eight coaches and accommodates 530 passengers, will operate with 16 coaches from July 10, increasing the total passenger capacity to 1,128.
High occupancy since launch
Train No. 20703/20704 was introduced with a composition of one Executive Class coach and seven Chair Cars. Since its launch, the Vande Bharat Express has been running with more than 100 per cent patronage, reflecting strong demand among travellers.
Revised coach composition
According to the SCR press release, the revised train composition will include 14 Chair Cars with a capacity of 1,024 passengers. Executive Class coaches accommodate 104 passengers, and total capacity is 1,128 passengers.
Meeting passenger demand
Indian Railways took the decision to augment the train rake with eight additional coaches to cater to the increasing passenger demand between the two major IT cities.
SCR General Manager Sandeep Mathur said the enhanced capacity will enable more rail passengers to avail of Vande Bharat services, ensuring comfortable and fast travel between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
