Khairatabad Bada Ganesh: Traffic restrictions in place from Sept 7-17
To manage the crowds and ensure smooth traffic flow, the following traffic diversions will be in place from 11 am until late night, depending on visitor turnout

The festival, which draws thousands of devotees daily to Khairatabad Bada Ganesh, will culminate with the immersion of the idol at Hussain Sagar Lake on the final day.
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of Hyderabad’s biggest festivals, celebrated with full fanfare. Major streets see large gatherings as devotees from various parts of the city visit popular Ganesh idols, with the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh being a key attraction.
Traffic diversion plan
To manage the crowds and ensure smooth traffic flow, the following traffic diversions will be in place from 11 am until late night, depending on visitor turnout:
1. VV Statue to Mint Compound Traffic: Vehicles coming from VV Statue towards Mint Compound via Rajeev Gandhi Statue will be diverted at Rajeev Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari Junction.
2. Old PS Saifabad to Bada Ganesh: Traffic from Old PS Saifabad towards Bada Ganesh via Rajdoot lane will be diverted at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar.
3. Iqbal Minar to Mint Compound: Vehicles from Iqbal Minar towards Mint Compound lane will be diverted at Mint Lane Entrance towards Telugu Thalli junction.
4. NTR Marg/Khairatabad Flyover/Necklace Road to Mint Compound: Traffic from these routes will be diverted at Necklace Rotary towards Telugu Thalli junction or Khairatabad Flyover.
5. Nirankari to Khairatabad Railway Gate: Traffic from Nirankari via Khairatabad Post Office lane towards Khairatabad Railway gate will be diverted at the Post Office towards Old PS Saifabad junction.

Expected Traffic Congestion
Heavy congestion is anticipated, particularly during weekends and public holidays, at the following junctions:
- Khairatabad
- Shadan College
- Nirankari
- Old PS Saifabad
- Mint Compound
- Necklace Rotary
Commuters are advised to avoid these routes during the festival period.
Parking Arrangements
Parking spaces have been designated for devotees visiting Bada Ganesh:
- Visitors through Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden: Parking is available at Ambedkar Square (beside IMAX Theatre), NTR Garden parking, Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School premises, and Race Course Road.
- Private vehicle visitors must approach via Necklace Road/Imax Rotary and avoid Khairatabad Rajiv Gandhi Statue Road and Rajdoot Lane.
Public Advisory
The restrictions will be enforced based on the number of devotees visiting the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh. Devotees are urged to park only in designated areas and to follow instructions from the traffic police.
