Khammam techie orders drugs on dark web, nabbed

By Newsmeter Network Published on 10 Aug 2024 4:56 PM ISTHyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) arrested a software engineer from Khammam who ordered drugs from the dark web.
The Technical Wing of TGANB identified a network that was using online platforms to deliver drugs via Speed Post and successfully intercepted a drug delivery operation facilitated through the dark web.
Acting on information from TGANBās Technical Wing, officers from RNCC Khammam, with support from Khammam II Town Police, arrested a software engineer from Khammam town.
Contraband sent from Assam through Speed Post
The individual had ordered drugs on the dark web on July 31, 2024, and made the payment using cryptocurrency. The vendor shipped the drugs from Silpukhuri, Assam, through Speed Post and provided the tracking number to the buyer.
RNCC Khammam officers monitored the package and arrested the suspect on August 8, when he received the consignment at his residence. The drugs were found concealed under brown tape within a newspaper. TGANB, along with local police, is investigating the circumstances of the case and has provided counselling to the individual and his family.
