Komatireddy vows fast-track of LB Nagar–Amberpet Corridor, eyes 2-hour drive to Vijayawada

Hyderabad: Telangana Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday conducted a field inspection at Vanasthalipuram Junction to review the progress of the elevated corridor between LB Nagar and Pedda Amberpet.

The project, aimed at decongesting traffic on one of the city’s busiest stretches, is being implemented with a budget of Rs 650 crore.

He was joined by Ibrahimpatnam MLA Mal Reddy Ranga Reddy, RDC Chairman Mal Reddy Ram Reddy and several local leaders.

Focus on traffic relief and road development

Addressing the media during the inspection, Komatireddy said he was familiar with the traffic problems of the region.

“As an MP, I worked to improve road infrastructure here. Now, as the Minister for Roads and Buildings, I will ensure the early completion of all pending works,” he said.

Hyderabad–Vijayawada in two hours

Venkat Reddy revealed that the State government is planning a major greenfield road project to significantly reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

“Once completed, the journey will take just two hours,” he said. To advance this proposal, the minister will meet Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on August 6 to seek Central funding and cooperation.

Questions over delays in BRS tenure

Taking a swipe at the previous BRS government, the minister questioned the inordinate delay in completing the Uppal–Narapally flyover.

“Despite repeated promises, what did KT Rama Rao and the BRS government achieve in ten years? The state was pushed into debt with little to show in terms of actual development,” he remarked.

Congress government for inclusive welfare

Venkat Reddy reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to inclusive and transparent welfare schemes.

“Unlike the previous regime that ignored Backward Classes, our government will ensure benefits reach every eligible citizen. We will provide ration cards, rice, and Indiramma houses to all deserving families,” he said.

Push for Fast-Tracking Infrastructure

The inspection comes amid the Congress-led State government’s efforts to fast-track major infrastructure projects and roll out welfare measures that were delayed or neglected under the previous administration. The minister reaffirmed the government’s goal of balanced development across Telangana.
