Let the race begin: Actors, sports stars join in the Formula E excitement

Hyderabad: The racing cars have landed, security and crowd control measures are in place, and the stage is set for the first-ever Formula E-Prix in the country that will be held in Hyderabad from 11 February. The race will take place on a scenic track overlooking Hussain Sagar Lake. Hyderabadis are excited to witness the country’s first E-Prix.

Fédération Internationale de l ’Automobile (FIA), in collaboration with the Telangana government, will organise the mega event that is expected to draw 21,000 visitors from all over the globe. A total of 11 teams and 22 drivers would be competing in the all-new GEN3 race car. The series uses fully electric racing cars that produce zero emissions, and the races will be the first-ever Net Zero Event in India.

Many celebrities are also sharing their excitement at the upcoming Formula E championship. From actors Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Chaitanya Akkineni, Nani, Adivi Sesh, Venkatesh, and Dulquer to sports icons like P.V. Sindhu and Sania Mirza, everyone is posting about the event on social media.

Matter of pride

“It is a matter of pride for India that the first ever greenest race is held in India and to my hometown Hyderabad. Let’s make it a huge success,” said actor Chiranjeevi.


Love for racing cars

Actor Naga Chaitanya who loves racing cars said, “What’s even more exciting is it is a street circuit. These are always challenging, where the drivers should be must more precise, and there is racing in every corner.”

Naga Chaitanya owns many sports cars, including Nissan GT-R and Ferrari F 488. Not just cars, Chay owns a premium sports bike MV Agusta F4 that is worth Rs. 35 lakhs.


One for the history books

“I am proud that India is pacing forward in addressing climate change by hosting its first-ever Formula E race. Congratulations to the government of Telangana and Greenko for this significant achievement. Let’s make India first-ever net zero event. One for the history books,” said Prabhas in a video posted on Instagram.

“History is being made. Basically, Hyderabad is always known for its Irani Chai and Biryani. Now, it is all about to change on February 11. ‘Atluntadi Manathoni' (famous catchphrase),” said ‘DJ Tillu’ actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda


Let the race begin

Nagarjuna Akkineni also shared a video message on his Instagram page. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to KTR, the Government of Telangana, and Anil Chalamalasetty for bringing the Formula E World Championship to India and more importantly, to my city. And I am super excited to see you all on February 11 at the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix. Let the race begin,” he said.


Electrifying and sustainable future

P.V. Sindhu, India’s star badminton player, in her message said, “I cannot wait for you all to join me at the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix as we accelerate to an electrifying and sustainable future.”
