Hyderabad: The Telangana Food Safety Departmentā€™s recent inspections in the bustling Himayathnagar area have revealed alarming hygiene violations in several eateries, including the famous Creamstone ice cream store and Clove Vegetarian Fine Dine.

During the inspection, expired products such as cheese, syrup, ATC spices, sandwich bread, and brown sugar were discovered and promptly discarded.

Live cockroaches were also found in the ice cream storage unit, raising serious concerns about sanitation.

According to an official statement, ā€œExpired products and unhygienic conditions, including cockroach infestation, were observed at Clove Vegetarian Fine Dine. Notices will be issued, and adjudication cases will be filed.ā€

Creamstone outlet

Similar violations were observed at the Creamstone ice cream store, where expired stock of strawberry paste was found and discarded.

Furthermore, a certain stock of pineapple titbit cans was stored without maintaining the cold chain, while cakes and pastries were found without use-by dates.

The Food Safety Department stated, ā€œNotices will be issued and adjudication cases will be filed against Creamstone outlet for failing to comply with food safety regulations.ā€

Moazzam Jahi Market area inspections

The food safety task force also conducted inspections at Moazzam Jahi Market area, uncovering further violations.

Bilal Ice Cream: The outlet and its manufacturing unit were found operating without any valid license or registration. Additionally, fake brand water bottles were discovered on the premises. A notice has been issued, and action will be taken accordingly.

Karachi Bakery: At Karachi Bakery, expired stocks of various products worth Rs 5,200 were discarded. Use-by dates were not displayed on pastries and cakes, violating FSSAI regulations. Multiple unlabelled products were also found, further violating the FSSAI Act.

In response, the Food Safety Department stated, ā€œViolations observed at Karachi Bakery are a serious concern. We are taking necessary actions to ensure compliance with food safety standards.ā€
