LPG prices increased: Domestic cylinder to cost Rs 1155, commercial cylinder Rs 2119.50 in Hyderabad

Centre has increased the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Domestic LPG prices in Hyderabad have been increased by Rs 55 per cylinder. Commercial customers have to shell out Rs 350.50 more per cylinder.

Domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1155 in Hyderabad, while 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost RS 2119.50

Domestic LPG cylinder prices were last raised in 2022. Car LPG prices have also been raised by $6 per liter as of today. The government has subsidized these costs for the poorer sectors. The majority of Hyderabad's population now has easy access to cooking gas.

Reactions to the price hike

"The price hike is a continuous process. Any item or commodity depending on imports/ international procurement has a larger dependency on international rates. But yes, it disturbs the labor class, middle class, and retired people with minimal income sources. Govt should stop leakage, and stop subsidiaries to Ministers/ Politicians first - automatically needy people will be benefitted" said Pradeep Kumar Dutt from the Hotel Association of Telangana.

How to secure a new connection for a non-domestic LPG cylinder?

LPG Non-domestic, or commercial, cylinders are available in weights of 5 kg, 19 kg, and 47.5 kg, respectively. To obtain a commercial cylinder, an individual must pay a security deposit along with the completely completed application form connected with the relevant documentation as defined by the gas distributor. If a person wishes to obtain an Indane gas connection for non-domestic use, the same is available in capacities of 5 kgs, 19 kgs, and 47.5 kgs. The cylinder will be released upon payment of a set amount as a security deposit.

According to the Directorate of Explosives, disconnected cylinders of up to 100 kgs of LPG can be kept without an explosive license. Hence, if an individual requires up to 100 kgs of LPG for commercial/industrial purposes, he or she can purchase it from the nearest Indane gas dealer.

One can sit comfortably at home and use their cell phone to book a refilled LPG cylinder. Customers with Android and iPhones can use this app to book an Indane LPG cylinder in addition to filing a complaint, registering a request for a second cylinder, requesting a connection surrender, checking the history of refilled LPG cylinder supplies received, and rating the distributor. The Indane gas mobile app is presently available in the Google Play store for Android phones and the Apple Store for iPhones.

Customers can search for 'Indane' on the PLAY STORE or APP STORE and install the app on their mobile phones by selecting 'Indane'. Following installation, one must follow the procedures to activate the app, after which one must provide all required facts such as the consumer's name, 17-digit consumer number, distributor's name, and so on.
