Magunta, Son and Sarath Chandra Reddy turn approvers; Is YSRCP being used to target Kavitha?
Pertinently P Sarath Chandra Reddy, one of the accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam and identified as a key person in the ‘South Group’, has been appointed by the AP government as a TTD board member.
By Coreena Suares Published on 9 Sep 2023 7:06 AM GMTHyderabad: Trouble is seemingly mounting for BRS MLC and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister, Kalvakuntla Kavitha Rao after YSRCP Ongole MP turned an approver in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. An approver is a person to admits to have involved in a certain crime, but he/she/ they, at a large state, confess to offer services as a witness for prosecution.
He is the fourth approver in the case. Domiciles sword seems to be hanging over BRS MLC and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister, Kalvakuntla Kavitha Rao.
The approvers include former Aurobindo Group Director P Sarath Chandra Reddy, who happens to be the brother of YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy's Son-in-law. Another approver is junior Magunta, Raghava. What is conspicuous about the three is their connection to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP.
The fourth approver is Dinesh Arora, - a close aide of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
This raises questions about Jagan Mohan Reddy being used against BRS Supremo K Chandrashekar Rao and his daughter Kavitha. If sources are to be believed, MLC Rao is likely to face another round of questioning by the central Investigating agencies probing the scam.
Pertinently P Sarath Chandra Reddy, one of the accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam and identified as a key person in the ‘South Group’, has been appointed by the AP government as a TTD board member.
The tainted list includes Dr Ketan Desai, former MCI president and a resident of Gujarat, who is accused of financial fraud figured in the TTD board list. This is the second time Desai has been appointed as a board member. In 2021, he was the first Gujarati on the TTD board. Dr. Ketan Desai is currently the President of the Gujarat Medical Council.
While P Sarath Chandra Reddy, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, and his son Raghava are out on bail, MLC Kavitha's close aides, Hyderabad businessman Arun Ramachandra Pillai and Boinapllay Abhishek Rao are still in jail.
Delhi Liquor Policy Scam nailed three political parties including Aam Aadmi Party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. Reports are making rounds in the political circles that the three approvers in the case are being pitched against BRS MLC Kavitha Rao, as a favor to the big bosses to help save the skin of an important YSRCP MP who is facing murder charges.
After a long haul in the investigation, Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy turning approver indicates the probe has once again picked up pace. It is pertinent to note that the Central Bureau of Investigation had filed corruption charges against the Assistant Director, Enforcement Directorate for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5 crore from businessman Aman Dhal in connection with the liquor scam.
