Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana to furnish information on criminal cases pending against Pampari Sai Prasad, BJYM national treasurer and an MLA ticket aspirant from the Malkajgiri Assembly Constituency for the ensuing Telangana Assembly elections.
Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy was hearing the writ petition filed by P Sai Prasad, a resident of Gangaputra colony, Alwal in Secunderabad. The counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the petitioner may have to file an affidavit before the returning officer (RO) furnishing information pertaining to the criminal cases pending against him which needs to be provided by the police department.
The petitioner informed the court that he gave a representation to the DGP on October 25 which is still pending. In the absence of information on criminal cases pending against him, he cannot file a nomination in case he gets the ticket, the counsel informed the court.
The judge, while directing the DGP to furnish information to the petitioner by Monday, adjourned the writ petition to November 6.
