HYDRAA demolishes Prakruti Resorts’ structure occupying Komati Kunta lake FTL

Hyderabad: Continuing its demolition spree on unauthorised structures, HYDRAA razed down Prakruti Resorts and Prakruti Convention at Komati Kunta in Devaryamjal Village, Thumkunta Municipality in Malkajgiri District on Thursday.

HYDRAA’s action comes following a series of complaints received by commissioner AV Ranganath from locals about illegal construction in the FTL area of Komati Kunta.

Taking serious note of the complaints, HYDRAA conducted a comprehensive investigation with the irrigation, revenue and municipality officials.

The investigation revealed that Prakruti Resorts and Prakruti Convention, built in the Komati Kunta area, do not have any construction permits. Also, as it was revealed that these constructions were done within the FTL area of the pond, HYDRAA ordered demolition.

HC gave 30 days to remove structures from FTL

Ranganath said that the representatives of Prakruti Resorts and Prakriti Convention approached the High Court challenging the notices served by HYDRAA.

Based on the reports given by the irrigation, revenue and municipality officials, the High Court has ordered the demolition of the structures built within the FTL area of the lake.

The representatives of Prakruti Resorts and Prakriti Convention sought directions from the High Court for 30 days to remove the encroachments. As they were not removed even after 30 days, HYDRAA launched a drive and razed down the unauthorised structures, the HYDRAA commissioner said.
