Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Manchu Mohan Babu and son Manoj 

Hyderabad: Chaos ensued at veteran Telugu actor Manchu Mohan Babu's Jalpally home on Tuesday when his younger son Manoj attempted to enter the house.

A video journalist covering the development was also allegedly attacked.

Manoj, who is also an actor, tried to force his way inside the house, only to be pushed out by private security personnel. TV visuals showed Mohan Babu trying to hit a video journalist, who was covering the development, with a microphone.The video journalist reportedly suffered injuries.

Later, Mohan Babu was also admitted to a private hospital after his blood pressure levels were abnormal.

Rachakonda CP issues notices to Mohan Babu over Jalpally incident

Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP) G Sudheer Babu has issued notices to veteran actor Mohan Babu in connection with the recent Jalpally incident. Mohan Babu has been asked to appear in person at 10:30 am on Wednesday, to address concerns regarding a potential breach of peace under Section 126 BNSS.

The notice comes after the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pahadi Shareef Police Station filed a report alleging Mohan Babuā€™s involvement in http://Cr.No. 643/2024 under various sections of the law, including 329(4), 115(2), and 351(2) read with 3(5) BNS. The allegations stem from an incident in Jalpally, where tensions escalated following a reported attack.

Guns seized amid investigation

As part of the ongoing inquiry, the police have also confiscated the licensed guns of Mohan Babu and his son, Manchu Manoj. Authorities have justified this decision by pointing to the possibility of a breach of peace.

Mohan Babu releases an audio message

Amidst the continuing dispute between Manchu Manoj and his father, Mohan Babu, the latter released an 11-minute audio message.

In the audio message, Mohan Babu recalled how he had made sure Manoj received the best education possible and how he tried to make him happy.

Mohan Babu tried to convey that no family is perfect and that this does not imply that parents do not care for their kids.

According to Mohan Babu, Sunday's altercation in the house was a minor matter. ā€œMohan Babu University is among the top varsities," he said. "You should be aware that there are several problems associated with running the university."

The actor said although Manoj shouldn't enter the house, he is free to take his kids.

Differences in Mohan Babu's family came out in the open on Monday after he lodged a police complaint, alleging that Manoj and his wife "orchestrated" a plan to take possession of his Jalpally home through intimidation and force.

However, Manoj told reporters that he was not fighting for a share in the property, but self-respect. He reiterated that he sought police protection for him and his family and later met a senior police official over the issue.

In a social media post, Manoj also termed the allegations made against him by his father as baseless, malicious, and false. Mohan Babu's elder son Vishnu said family issues would be resolved.

Manoj and others were earlier booked by the police based on Mohan Babu's complaint. Mohan Babu alleged in his complaint on Monday that Manoj and some anti-social elements hired by him caused a disturbance at his residence on December 8.

One of his employees informed him on Monday that 30 individuals trespassed into the residence, threatened the staff, and evicted them from the premises, he said.

These individuals, acting on the instructions of Manoj and his wife, "illegally" occupied the house, the senior Telugu actor alleged. Mohan Babu requested the police to take action against Manoj, his wif,e and their associates and evict them from the house.

He also requested police protection to ensure his safety and allow him to access his house without fear. The police also registered a case on a complaint lodged by Manoj, alleging that 10 unidentified people had entered the home on December 8 before trying to flee when he noticed them.

Manoj said in his complaint lodged at Pahadi Shareef police station that he tried to catch them and there was a scuffle, which led to him suffering injuries, a police official said.
