Manchu family feud: Actor Mohan Babu, son Manoj file police complaints; allege attacks

Hyderabad: Manchu family feud took an ugly turn when veteran actor Mohan Babu and his younger son Manoj approached the police and filed separate complaints.

Initially, Manoj, who is also an actor, lodged complaints with the Pahadi Shareef Police alleging 10 unidentified persons had entered his home on Sunday.

Manoj said he tried to catch them which led to a scuffle causing him injuries, a police official said. He also requested the police to grant protection to him, his wife, and their children. He sought a thorough investigation into the matter. He urged police to identify miscreants who illegally entered his home.

Pahadi Shareef CI Gurava Reddy said that Manoj had not filed any complaint against his family members. However, the actor mentioned that there was a threat to him from his family. Manoj sustained injuries in an attack by the unidentified persons and underwent treatment at a hospital, he said.

The CI said that Manoj alleged that Vijay Reddy and Kiran, followers of his brother Manchu Vishnu, barged into his house and took away the CCTV footage. "A case has been filed against Vijay Reddy and 10 unidentified persons under sections 329, 351, and 115 of the IPC. Further investigation is on," Guruva Reddy said.

Later Mohan Babu also filed a police complaint, alleging that his younger son M Manoj, and daughter-in-law "orchestrated" a plan to take possession of his home in the Jalpally area through intimidation and force.

Mohan Babu, in his complaint addressed to Commissioner of Police (Rachakonda), Sudheer Babu, alleged that Manoj and some anti-social elements hired by him caused a disturbance at his residence on Sunday. One of his employees informed him on Monday that 30 individuals trespassed into the residence, threatened the staff, and evicted them from the premises, he said.

These individuals, acting on the instructions of Manoj and his wife, "illegally" occupied his house, the senior Telugu actor alleged. Mohan Babu requested the police to take action against Manoj, his wife, and their associates and evict them from the house.

The veteran actor also requested the police for immediate intervention. He sought legal action against Manoj, Monika, and their associates. He asked for the eviction of his son Manoj his wife Monika and the unauthorized individuals from his property.

ā€œProvide me with adequate protection to ensure my safety and allow me to access my home without fear,ā€ he said

A police official said they registered two cases based on the complaints. Social media users are debating the family feud. It has generated a lot of discussion.

Reacting to the allegations leveled by his father, Manoj wrote on X: ā€œIt deeply saddens me to address the malicious, false, baseless allegations raised against me and my wife Mounika by my father Mohan Babu. These claims are not only untrue but also part of a deliberate effort to defame me, silence my voice, and create unnecessary family strife.ā€™
