Mayor Vijayalakshmi files complaint against obscene videos targeting her

Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police alleging that she has been targeted on social media by obscene videos. She also stated that even transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar is being trolled in videos with defamatory content.

In her complaint, the mayor provided the police with details about where the videos were posted. She requested cyber crime police take action against those responsible for posting the obscene videos.

“The videos in question feature fake and vulgar videos which are derogatory in nature and severely demeaning my character. I believe the creator and distributor of these videos originated from an X handle called @nijamenayya1 and further spread through Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp accounts,” said the mayor in her complaint.

The videos have gone viral on social media causing harm to my reputation and dignity. I have attached the videos and the links to the content, she said.

She requested the police to investigate the issue and take appropriate action against the perpetrators and direct social media platforms to remove the offensive content. The cyber crime police are currently investigating the matter and have registered a case based on the mayor’s complaint.
