Medaram Jathara: TSRTC diverts buses, MD Sajjanar seeks cooperation from passengers

By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Feb 2024 6:15 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) managing director VC Sajjanar has urged passengers to cooperate with the staff so that proper arrangements can be made for their travel till the conclusion of Medaram Jathara, Asiaās largest tribal festival.
Sajjanar on Tuesday said that the TSRTC is operating over 6,000 special buses from February 18 to 24 to ensure a hassle-free journey for the devotees thronging the Medaram Jathara.
Due to this, the RTC is facing a little difficulty in operating regular services for the common passengers in Greater Hyderabad. He said TSRTC has diverted over 1,800 buses out of the total of 2,644 buses from various depots in the city for the Medaram Jathara, he said.
TSRTC MD also said that special buses from various parts of the state have already reached Medaram.
āWe have arranged as many as 51 camps in Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Adilabad districts where the devotees' influx is expected to be high. We are also running these special buses to Medaram. Free travel for women (Mahalakshmi scheme) is applicable in all the special buses,ā he said.
