Medchal home guard death: Cyberabad CP gives Rs 11 lakh cheque to family

By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 May 2023 10:48 AM GMTHyderabad: Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Raveendra on Friday presented a cheque for Rs. 11,60,000 to the family of home guard G. Srinivas of Medchal traffic police who was killed in a car accident on 25 January.
On 25 January, at around 12.30, G. Srinivas was involved in an accident while on duty at the Kandlakoya junction. He died while being transported to the hospital. Srinivas came from an extremely low-income household and had to support his spouse and two children.
Cyberabad CP Stephen Raveendra, with the approval of top officials, began collecting donations for the victim’s family on behalf of the Cyberabad police, raising a total of Rs. 11,60,000.
Contributors were collected from Cyberabad, Hyderabad, RCK commissionerates’ traffic, L&O, and other wings. People generously offered their assistance to the family, and the corporate sector in the (CSR) group also offered support to the victim’s family.
Additional DGP Abhilasha Bist, acting on behalf of the DGP of Telangana, persuaded HDFC Bank to issue a cheque for insurance of Rs. 30 lakhs after the Cyberabad police convinced them that the victim maintained an HDFC salary account.
The victim’s mother will receive Rs. 2,500 each month from the Medchal traffic SHO, B.N.S. Reddy, for a year.
Mr. Raveendra presented the family members with the cheque and thanked everyone who had contributed to aiding the family. He specially thanked HDFC Bank for quickly granting a sizable sum to the victim’s family. “Value is added with every single rupee that is given,” he added.
