Meet Hyderabad's Police Commissioner IPS Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy

Hyderabad: IPS officer Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy is the new Hyderabad Police Commissioner. On December 13, he took charge as the new CP from outgoing officer Sandeep Sandilya who is now the chief of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau.

The new CP is known to be a man of few words and not much known about him on the Internet.

The 58 year old, hails from Telangana and joined the service in 1994. He hold a degree in Master of communication and LLB and he is of the rank of Additional Director General of Police. All through his career this far, he was awarded

Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2010, President Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the year 2019 and Ati-Utkrisht Seva Padak-2023.

The officer served in various districts in different capacities, while his first posting was as an assistant superintendent of police in Bodhan assembly constituency falling under Nizamabad district. While he is in service, the officer studied Chief Information Officers’ Course on e-governance at the IIM Ahmadabad at IIM, Ahmadabad. He completed his Mid-Career Training Programme for IPS Officers at Cambridge University, UK.

The new CP is an expert in Anti Terrorism Assistance (ATA), he completed a course in Executive Forum on Foreign Terrorist Fighters Consultation at International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), Budapest, Hungary.
