Hyderabad: Metro Rail, used by lakhs of passengers daily, is now set to offer a new experience to its passengers.

Metro is providing an opportunity for many people who rely on it to solve traffic problems and showcase their interests in various fields of art, literature, and culture.

NVS Reddy, MD of HMRL and HAML, revealed that suitable space will be allocated at spacious stations like MGBS for passengers to showcase their skills.

On the occasion of the Sankranti festival, L&T Metro and Hyderabad Metro Rail companies have launched a three-day innovative promotional campaign called 'MeTimeOnMy Metro'.

This Metro festival was inaugurated on Wednesday at JBS Metro Station by HMR MD NVS Reddy and L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad MD & CEO KVB Reddy. NVS Reddy stated that the Metro is not just a transportation system made of concrete and walls, but it is the soul of the city, reflecting the city's socio-cultural ethos.

NVS Reddy mentioned that plans are being afoot to develop the Metro, keeping in mind Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's directives to transform Hyderabad into an international city. He revealed that some key station junctions and spacious areas will be developed as special hubs and international centers.

NVS Reddy has also indicated that plans are being prepared to establish a mega junction station for the proposed JBS - Shameerpet (22 km) and Paradise - Medchal (23 km) routes in Phase-2 Part-'B' as per the CM's instructions.

He said efforts are underway to get the DPRs sent to the center for the five corridors in Phase-2 Part 'A' approved soon, and once the approvals are received, the works will commence swiftly.

Meanwhile, land acquisition in the old city, road widening, and demolition works for Metro construction will begin soon, NVS Reddy said.

L&T Metro Rail MD KVB Reddy mentioned that arrangements are being made to purchase additional trains to accommodate the increasing crowd in Metro trains. He said that new trains will arrive within 18 months of placing the order. However, he mentioned that if passengers adopt more discipline, the crowd problem will be significantly reduced.

As part of the 'MeTimeOnMyMetro' campaign, short films and dances were showcased on this occasion. NVS Reddy and KVB Reddy flagged off a Metro train designed to reflect the Sankranti celebrations and this promotional campaign.
