Hyderabad: Hyderabad's Mobbera Foundation is set to host free health check-ups exclusively designed for the LGBTQ+ community.

This initiative, taking place on October 14 and 15 is a collaborative effort with clinics dedicated to Queer healthcare, including The Mitr Clinic, QT Centre, and STAR Foundation. The primary objective is to provide essential healthcare services to a community often underserved in the medical realm.

"Our primary goal is to ensure that healthcare is accessible, respectful, and tailored to the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

We aim to provide a safe and inclusive space where individuals can address their health concerns without fear of judgment," said Sandy Reddy, a representative of Mobbera Foundation,

The health camp offers a diverse range of tests, from Hemogram/CBC to Mental Health Wellness checkups, with a specific focus on conditions like depression, anxiety, and overall quality of life. The best part? All of these services are provided completely free of cost, making healthcare more accessible to a community that often faces unique health challenges.

What sets this initiative apart is the participation of specialist doctors from AIIMS, ensuring that expert care is at the forefront of the services provided. This collaboration reflects a dedication to prioritizing the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community.

However, this health camp goes beyond merely offering medical services. It is designed to foster an inclusive, judgment-free environment where community members can openly discuss their concerns. It's an opportunity to actively engage with healthcare policies, gain insights into the healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community, and advocate for change.

Privacy and confidentiality are paramount in this endeavor. Participants can freely share their health issues without apprehension, knowing that their privacy will be respected. Test results will be provided anonymously, and the choice of language is in the hands of the participants, whether it's English, Telugu, or Hindi.

The health screenings will take place from 12 pm to 4 pm at two locations – Mitr Clinic in Narayanaguda on Saturday and QT Centre in Habisguda on Sunday, making it convenient for the community to access these essential services.

“Partnering with renowned healthcare institutions and having specialists from AIIMS onboard underlines our commitment to the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community. We hope that this initiative will not only improve the health of individuals but also contribute to a broader dialogue on healthcare policies for this vibrant community," Sandy added.
