The court’s decision follows a petition filed by Nandakumar, who alleged that the Deccan Kitchen Hotel in Filmnagar, Hyderabad, owned by the Daggubati family, was demolished against court orders.
Nandakumar's complaint detailed that the hotel’s demolition, worth crores of rupees, occurred despite existing court orders regarding the lease. He asserted that Venkatesh, Suresh Babu, Rana, and Abhiram colluded with GHMC officials and the police to carry out the unauthorised demolition.
“Up to 60 private bouncers were involved in vandalising the property, and valuable furniture was taken away during the process, resulting in a loss estimated at Rs 20 crores,” Nandakumar said in the petition.
In response to Nandakumar’s plea, the Nampally court has directed the registration of a case against the Daggubati family members, invoking sections 448, 452, 380, 506, and 120b of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The legal proceedings are expected to unfold as the case progresses.
The Daggubati family, known for their contributions to the Telugu film industry, now faces legal scrutiny in connection with the demolition dispute and further developments will be closely monitored in the coming days.
