Hyderabad: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a drug cartel and seized 3.2 kgs of contraband Alprazolam in Hyderabad city. Four persons have been arrested and a clandestine drug manufacturing facility has been unearthed in the two-day-long operation.
Nearly 10 NCB officials from Hyderabad headed by Zonal Director carried out the operation. Around 3.2 kg Alprazolam and Rs 12.75 lakh cash besides two vehicles were seized.
NCB Zonal Unit (Bangalore) Director Amit Ghawate said on credible information, officials from Hyderabad sub-zone intercepted two cars near Ujawala Grand (Medak-Hyderabad road) city and apprehended four persons and seized the contraband material.
"During swift spot interrogation and immediate follow-up action, a clandestine laboratory was found operating at the house of Yachamaneni Sudhakar at Balanagar. He was the supplier and manufacturer," he said.
During the search, Alprazolam at various stages of manufacturing were also found. The arrested persons have been identified as Yachamaneni Sudhakar, Allanki Naresh, K Phani Kumar and Allanki Srikanth. Further investigation is in progress.
