Hyderabad: National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021 result was declared on Monday. Three students including Hyderabad boy Mrinal Kutteri were declared toppers this year.

Mrinal scored a perfect 720 out of 720 and secured all-India rank 1. National testing agency on Monday declared the results for admission into India's medical and dental colleges.

The exam was conducted on September 12. Over 16 lakh students had appeared in the medical entrance test. NTA will prepare the all-India merit list on the basis of cut-off and marks secured by the candidate.

Since NEET Result 2021 has been declared, the counseling process will begin soon. Admissions to all seats of undergraduate medical/dental courses will be done through NEET (UG) – 2021.

As the NEET qualifiers will head for the next phase of counseling, the toppers will have golden tickets to the premium medical colleges in India.

NEET (UG) is a three-hour-long exam of 720 marks divided into 3 sections for granting admission to 83,075 medical, 26,949 dental, 52,720 AYUSH, and 603 veterinary seats in India. Aspirants securing the NEET 2021 qualifying cut-off will be called for counseling.

Mrinal Kutteri said he followed a well-balanced routine in pursuit of his goals. "I did not leave my hobbies while preparing for NEET," he told media persons.

In an interview uploaded by Aakash Byju, Mrinal said his route to pursuing a career in medicine was indirect. Up till class 7, he wanted to become an engineer before developing an interest in medicine. Mrinal said he wanted to become an army doctor. He is the first one in his immediate family to pursue medicine.

He advised aspirants to figure out the learning method and stick to that.

The other two toppers are Tanmay Gupta from Delhi and Karthika G Nair from Maharashtra. A tie-breaking formula may be used at the counseling stage for these three candidates, said, officials. Mrinal has a percentile score of 99.9998057.

Khandavally Shashank got 5th rank with 715 marks and a percentile score of 99.998705. Interestingly, a total of 12 students have got the fifth position.

There were four Telangana girls among the top 20 female toppers. They are Kasa Lahari, who got the 30th rank with 710 marks and a percentile score of 99.9969565. Emani Srinija secured the 38th rank with 710 marks with a percentile score of 99.9969565. Dasika Sri Niharika scored 56th rank with 705 marks with a percentile score of 99.9931359. Pasupunoori Sharanya bagged the 60th rank with 705 marks and a percentile score of 99.9931359.
