Nehru Outer Ring Road TOT: Revanth Reddy moves HC, seeks info about Rs 7380 Cr tender

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) A. Revanth Reddy moved the High Court seeking a direction to the BRS government to divulge the information about the TOT of Nehru Outer Ring Road, which has been awarded to INB Infrastructure Developers Limited for Rs. 7,380 crore for 30 years.

The petitioner contended that he had applied for information under the RTI Act, 2005 by addressing a letter to the Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development on May 1, 2023. He said the information had not been furnished to him till now.

He said as per general advice and practice of the National Highways Authority of India, Government of India, the lease period of any work awarded should not exceed 20 years, whereas, this tender has been issued for 30 years.

The petitioner said he also sought information from the Managing Director, Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL). Rather than furnishing information, the petitioner contended that he was slapped with civil suits in lower courts on the ground that he had made defamatory/scandalous comments on the TOT Nehru Outer Ring Road, which he had contested.

Revanth Reddy also informed the Court that the Information Commission is also defunct because CIC and ICs have not been appointed. He said it is also one of the reasons for not getting the information.

Principal Secretary Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Secretary HMDA, and Public Information Officer & MD HGCL, Hyderabad have been made respondents in the case.

The petition will come up for hearing soon before the division bench.
