Hyderabad: For a hassle-free journey in Hyderabad, the GHMC has constructed new flyovers, underpasses, and ROBs. A total of 17 flyovers have been inaugurated so far. For the new year 2023, the 18th flyover at Kothaguda will be inaugurated by the Telangana minister for IT and commerce KTR in the first week of January.
The 3-l-km-long Kothaguda flyover will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 263 crores. This flyover has a 470-meter-long and 11-meter wide underpass. It will also have a 65-meter-long closed box and a 425-meter-long open box underpass.
The Kothaguda flyover will benefit motorists and residents of surrounding colonies and neighborhoods. It will facilitate traffic between Botanical Garden, Kothaguda, and Kondapur junctions. In addition, the existing grade corridor will benefit the commercial structures on both sides. The new flyover will help many software employees residing in the surrounding areas.
The new flyover will connect Gachibowli to Miyapur, Financial District to Hi-Tech City, and the surrounding areas. The flyover is likely to solve traffic woes at the Botanical Garden junction, Kothaguda junction, and Kondapur junction.
The flyover was built under the Strategic Road Development (SRDP) scheme. So far, 41 works have been undertaken under this scheme, out of which 30 have been completed.
