Niranjan to raise poll complaint against KCR, Harish Rao for insulting Congress
Listing the insults allegedly made against Congress, Niranjan said that CM KCR has called the party ‘dokebaji’ (fraud) party.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Nov 2023 10:54 AM GMTHyderabad: G Niranjan, senior vice president of TPCC (Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee) said that the party is going to file a complaint with the Election Commission against chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao and minister Harish Rao for allegedly insulting the Congress party and its members in public meetings.
Listing the insults allegedly made against Congress, Niranjan said that CM KCR has called the party ‘dokebaji’ (fraud) party. KCR, in a public meeting in Karimnagar, had allegedly claimed that the Congress government did not grant separate statehood to Telangana till 2014, even though the same was promised in 2004. Similarly, Niranjan said that, on Friday, Harish Rao referred to the Congress party manifesto as ‘420 manifesto.’
“We strongly condemn such words against the party leaders and the party and they should be withdrawn. We will complain to the election commission about these issues,” said Niranjan in a press meeting on Saturday.
“It is a fact that KCR, while speaking publicly in the State Assembly, has attributed the formation of Telangana’s statehood to the efforts of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi,” he said.
He said that the BRS has also twisted Chidambaram’s words and has taken them out of context which is not the right thing to do. Niranjan was referring to Harish Rao and BRS senior leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah taking objection to former Union finance minister P Chidambaram’s remark against the Telangana government’s finances and jobs and other issues. The BRS leaders said that Chidambaram was trying to mislead people. Harish Rao also challenged Chidambaram to debate about Telangana’s fiscal standing and historical facts.
