NIRF rankings 2022: UoH, Osmania University among top 25 universities in India

By Amrutha Kosuru Published on 15 July 2022 12:34 PMHyderabad: Several universities from Telangana have made it to the list of top 25 universities in the country, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2022 (NIRF 2022).
The results were announced on Friday by the minister of education Dharmendra Prasad in New Delhi.
The University of Hyderabad has been ranked 10th in the universities category, 20th in the overall category, 27th in the research category, and 94th in the management category.
Osmania University has ranked 22nd in the universities category and 46th in the overall category. OU retained its position as the best state university in Telangana.
"This is a good sign that Osmania University has been ranked amongst the top universities in India...this ranking is an improvement over the last year and will boost the image and perception amongst the stakeholders," said Prof. D. Ravinder, the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
On the other hand, the International Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, ranked 9th in the engineering category, 12th in the research category, and 14th in the overall category.
Nalsar University of Law ranked 4th in the law category. It is also the only law university in the state to secure a spot in the top 100 law universities.
National Institute of Technology Warangal has ranked 45 in the overall category and 21st in the engineering category.
International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, and SR University also made their way to the top 100 universities in the engineering category.
ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education and the Institute of Management Technology have also been ranked in the top 100 under the management category.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad, Kakatiya University, Anurag University, Vishnu Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, CMR College of Pharmacy, and Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Pharmacy have been placed in the top 100 in the pharmacy category.
It should be noted that no university from Telangana has ranked in the top 100 in the architecture, medical, or dental categories.
