No Class 10 qualification, but two decades of medical practice: Fake dentist arrested in Neredmet

Hyderabad: In a shocking case of medical fraud, Malkajgiri police arrested a fake dentist in Neredmet. The accused has allegedly been running a clinic and treating patients for nearly two decades without any valid qualifications.

The accused did not even pass Class 10

According to police, the accused, identified as Ramesh, is a native of Uttar Pradesh.

Police investigations revealed that he had not even passed his Class 10 examinations but falsely claimed to hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree.

Using fabricated certificates, he managed to establish himself as a dental practitioner.

Clinic operated for 20 years

Ramesh had been operating a dental clinic in Neredmet for around 20 years, offering treatment to unsuspecting patients. His long-running illegal practice has raised serious concerns about regulatory oversight and public safety.

Suspicious night-time operations

The police said Ramesh conducted treatments only during odd hours, between 10 pm and early morning, further arousing suspicion about his activities.

Police raid exposes fraud

Acting on suspicion, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Malkajgiri carried out a raid on his clinic. During the investigation, it was confirmed that Ramesh lacked even basic educational qualifications and had been practising dentistry illegally.

Following the raid, police arrested Ramesh and seized documents believed to be forged.

“We are now investigating how he managed to operate undetected for so long and whether others may be involved in similar fraudulent practices,” police said.

Public advised to stay vigilant

Police urged citizens to verify the credentials of medical practitioners before seeking treatment, emphasising the risks posed by unqualified individuals offering healthcare services.
