Note these traffic restrictions around Hussain Sagar for hassle-free New Year celebrations
Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, Necklace Road, and Upper Tank Bund from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the intervening night of 31 December 2022 and 1 January 2023.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 31 Dec 2022 2:30 AM GMTHyderabad: To facilitate and regulate traffic in view of the New Year celebrations on the intervening night of 31 December 2022 and 1 January 2023, the Hyderabad traffic police will impose traffic restrictions around Hussain Sagar.
Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, Necklace Road, and Upper Tank Bund from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the intervening night of 31 December 2022 and 1 January 2023. The public is requested to take the following alternate routes:
1. Vehicular traffic coming from VV statue (Khairatabad) towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted at VV statue (Khairatabad) towards Nirankari and Raj Bhavan road.
2. Vehicular traffic coming from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Telugu Thalli junction towards Iqbal Minar, Lakadikapul, Ayodhya.
3. Vehicular traffic coming from Liberty junction will not be allowed towards Upper Tank Bund, hence commuters should take a left at Ambedkar statue, Telugu thalli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, and other alternate roads.
4. Vehicular traffic coming from Khairatabad Market towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad (Bada Ganesh) towards Sensation Theater, Rajdoot lane, Lakdikapul.
5. The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic.
6. Vehicular traffic coming from Nallagutta railway bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and PVNR Marg and will be diverted towards Ranigunj/Minister road.
7. Vehicular traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda crossroads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma temple, left turn, and Ashok Nagar, RTC crossroads.
All flyovers in the city will be closed for traffic on the intervening night of 31 December 2022 and 1 January 2023, except Begumpet and Langar House flyovers.
Buses, lorries and heavy vehicles will not be allowed in Hyderabad City limits till 2 a.m. on 1 January 2023.
The Hyderabad traffic police said it will undertake extensive checks to curb drunk driving, rash and negligent driving, over-speeding, triple riding on two-wheelers, and other traffic violations.
