Old City metro from MGBS to Chandrayangutta: 1,100 properties marked for acquisition
The announcement of awards for compensation of 200 affected properties will be completed by December end

Hyderabad: The land acquisition process for 7.5 kilometres for the Old City metro line between MGBS and Chandrayangutta has been expedited by the officials at a brisk pace. At present, the officials have identified as many as 1,100 properties for acquisition.
Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) managing director NVS Reddy on Sunday said that according to the Land Acquisition Act, out of these affected 1,100 properties, a requisition for 900 properties has already been submitted to the district collector Anudeep Durishetty out of which the collector has issued a preliminary notification for 800 properties.
Compensation for 200 properties by month-end
The HAML MD said that the collector completed issuing preliminary declarations for 400 properties out of the notified properties. The announcement of awards for compensation of 200 affected properties will be completed by the end of this month. After that compensation would be paid immediately and the work of demolishing them would begin and the constitution of the metro rail line would be paved, he added.
Elaborating further, Reddy said that the various constructions on this road and the owners of the affected properties have been discussed with them and they have been collected according to the Land Acquisition Act and the road expansion work is being carried out. He also made it clear that all the religious and historical buildings are being protected with engineering solutions in road expansion and metro construction.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is said to be giving top priority for the completion of the metro rail project in the old city,ā NVS Reddy said and added that the progress of the land acquisition works is being explained to the chief minister from time to time.
Old City Metro Rail route details
To extend the green line from MGBS to Chandrayangutta, the Old City Corridor VI is being constructed. The 7.5-kilometre line from MGBS passes over Darulshifa Jn, Shalibanda Jn, and Falaknuma via Mandi Rd in Old City.
The Salarjung Museum and Charminar in Hyderabad are 500 meters from the corridor, but because of their historical value, these names are still used as station names.
The road will be uniformly enlarged to 100 feet from its existing width of 60 feet between Darulshifa Junction and Shalibanda Junction and 80 feet between Shalibanda Junction and Chandrayangutta. The road is being enlarged to 120 feet at the stations.
