Hyderabad: Two Muslim groups in the city visited the grave of Nizam VII, Mir Osman Ali Khan, at Masjid-e-Judi in King Kothi on Saturday and offered floral tributes and prayers. They remembered the services of Asif Jahi rulers for Hyderabad and said the Police Action can't be overlooked as scores of innocent people died before the annexation of Hyderabad.

The Tehreek Muslim Shabban & Joint Action Committee of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh president Mohd. Mustaq Malik, who led a group, said the BJP and its allies are trying to distort the history of Hyderabad.

"We believe Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is a secular leader and earlier, he praised the Nizam and acknowledged the services of Asif Jahi rulers. The state government should announce Nizam Awards," Mr. Malik said.

Without naming AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the JAC president said the RSS wants to spread a wrong message about Hyderabad's history and a few people are indirectly helping them.

Congress Minority leader Osman Mohammed Khan and others also paid tribute to the Nizam and said there were many princely state rulers but no one was appointed Rajpramukh except Nizam VII. Even the government of India knew of the Nizam's services at the time of Hyderabad's merger, they said.

Meanwhile, MBT president Majeedullah Khan Farhat said no one can deny Nizam VII's contribution to developing erstwhile Hyderabad state.
