The completed project is Kunta to SRR Pride in Nizampet Municipal Corporation. Rs. 62 lakhs were sanctioned for this project.
Thirteen other projects are pending and are all to be completed by 31 March 2023.
The RTI was filed by city-based activist Robin Zaccheus. The response was sent by the Telangana irrigation and CAD department.
A total of Rs. 366.17 crores have been sanctioned for 15 projects under SNDP. The highest amount (Rs. 110 crores) has been sanctioned for the construction of stormwater closed drains in the Peerzadiguda and Boduppal Municipal Corporations.
Rs. 95 crores have been sanctioned for Fox Sagar surplus course channel restoration and Fox Sagar sluices valve to chemical nala along with coal Kalava to chemical nala via Vennelagadda Cheruvu. This project falls under the Kukatpally municipality.
Eight out of the 14 projects fall under the Nizampet municipality.
The RTI also inquired about the study that was asked to be conducted by MAUD minister K.T Rama Rao. Earlier, he had asked officials to take up a study and identify areas where the nalas were shrinking to carry out nala expansion works by removing encroachments.
As per the RTI, the study was never conducted. Furthermore, the RTI also said no encroachments were encountered during the SNDP works.
Additionally, it also said the Central government did not provide any funding for the SNDP works.
The RTI had also requested the preliminary and total infrastructure/agricultural loss, private property loss estimates during the Telangana monsoon season due to excessive rains in Telangana in July 2022. However, the RTI said the details of the estimate of the loss to any property due to excessive rains is "out of the scope of this office." It added, "There has been no reported loss in this office's jurisdiction."
