Orange Alert in Telangana: IMD forecasts heavy showers across districts
Heavy rains are expected on Friday and Saturday, and a yellow alert has been issued for the city

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecast very heavy monsoon rains across several districts of Telangana on Thursday and issued an orange alert.
Forecast for Hyderabad
For Hyderabad, IMD Hyderabad has predicted moderate rains on Thursday. Heavy rains are expected on Friday and Saturday, and a yellow alert has been issued for the city.
Thunderstorms and lightning are likely
According to IMD Hyderabad, many parts of Telangana may experience thunderstorms and lightning in addition to heavy rainfall.
The department has placed the state under an orange alert for two days, from September 27 to October 1; a yellow alert will remain in place.
Non-stop rains in the districts
Weather enthusiast T Balaji, known for his detailed local forecasts, said, “Non-stop rains to continue in Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Peddapalli, Mancherial, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Hanmakonda, Warangal, Sircilla and Kamareddy for the next three hours.”
On Hyderabad’s conditions, Balaji added, “Drizzles can start from noon hours in a few parts. Light rains ahead during late afternoon, evening.”
Advisory to residents
With the alerts in place, IMD Hyderabad has advised residents of Telangana to plan travel and outdoor activities with caution.
