Organizers of Allu Arjun's Pushpa pre-release event booked in Jubilee Hills

By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Dec 2021 2:12 PM GMTHyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police have registered a case against Mythri Movie Makers, producer of the movie 'Pushpa' and Shreyas Creations Media the organizers of the pre-release event of the movie which was held in Telangana State Special Police Ground on 12 December. More than 10,000 people had attended the event which caused a stampede-like situation.
Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandhana, and the filmmakers were present at the pre-release event.
The stampede took place when people started to cross the barricades. The event organizers tried to control the crowd but failed. The police had to step in to control the crowd.
Jubilee Hills Inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy said that the management of Shreyas Media was given permission to allow only 5,000 people. "But, they have violated the permission and sold over 10,000 passes, which resulted in massive traffic jams and disturbance to normal life in the area," he said.
"It was not like people came voluntarily, everyone who was in and around the premises was holding passes, which means they sold passes beyond granted permission," Mr. Reddy said.
A case has been registered against the event organizer, Kishore under Section 143 ( Punishment for unlawful assembly), 341(Punishment for wrongful restraint), 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 209 (Dishonestly making false claim in Court) of the Indian Penal Code and a probe is launched.
Police have also collected video footage of surveillance cameras in the area, apart from other technical evidence.
Meanwhile, controversies continue to surround Allu Arjun's upcoming movie 'Pushpa'. On Monday, a case had been filed against Samantha's dance number 'Oo Untava' from the film stating that the lyrics portray men as lustful. The lawsuit also sought a ban on the song.
