ORR mishap: Truck catches fire, driver, cleaner burnt alive

Hyderabad: A driver and a cleaner were burnt alive when their truck caught fire after crashing into another vehicle at Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Himayat Sagar on Thursday.

The victims have been identified as Suraj, the driver, and Murthujan, the cleaner.

Police said the container truck loaded with seafood was on its way to Hyderabad from Narsapur in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. When it reached ORR, the driver could not notice another vehicle and rammed into it.

The truck caught fire and both driver and cleaner got trapped in the cabin.

Even as passersby tried to rescue them, they could not be saved. Later fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Police have registered a case and started the investigation.
