Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) received a major boost, as the State Bank of India (SBI) donated a fleet of buses worth ₹1 crore. This contribution was made under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to improve transport facilities for students on campus.

The new fleet includes one luxury air-conditioned bus and two large non-AC buses. These vehicles will help students move more easily and comfortably across the large university campus.

The handover ceremony took place at the historic University College of Arts and Social Sciences.

What officials said?

Prof. Kumar Molugaram, Vice-Chancellor of OU said, "This donation is more than just new buses. It shows SBI’s commitment to our students. By making it easier for them to travel within the campus, we are investing in their comfort and success."

S. Radhakrishnan, Chief General Manager of SBI (Hyderabad Circle) added, "SBI has a 219-year history, and Osmania University has 109 years of academic excellence. We are proud to support this great institution and provide students with the resources they need to lead the country in the future."

The event ended with a flag-off ceremony where the keys to the new buses were handed over to the university management. Several senior professors from the university and top officials from the bank were present to mark the occasion.
