PM Modi’s visit to Hyderabad: Avoid these stretches on 8 April for easy commute

Traffic restrictions and parking arrangements will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on 8 April

Hyderabad: In light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Hyderabad to launch the Vandhe Bharath Express, Hyderabad commissioner of police C.V Anand has imposed the following traffic restrictions and made parking arrangements which will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on 8 April:



1. Roads/stretches to be avoided

Road stretch starting from

· Monappa junction–CTO junction–St. John Rotary–Sangeeth crossroad–Chilkalguda junction.

· MG Road–RP Road–SP Road.

2. Junctions to be avoided

Due to the heavy movement of vehicles carrying party activists/citizens attending the public meeting, heavy traffic congestion is expected at the following junctions.

Monappa (Rajiv Gandhi statue)–Greenlands–Prakashnagar–Rasoolpura–CTO–Plaza–SBH–YMCA–St. John Rotary–Sangeeth crossroad–Alugadda Bavi–Mettuguda–Chilkalguda–Brook Bond–Tivoli–Balamrai–Sweekar Upkar–Secunderabad Club–Trimulgherry–Tadbund–Central Point.

Citizens are requested to avoid traveling in the vicinity of the above junctions.

3. Road closures for general traffic

· Tivoli Crossroads to Plaza Crossroad and vice versa.

· SBH crossroads to Sweekar Upkar junction and vice versa.

4. Advice to Railway passengers

General passengers intending to travel by train from Secunderabad railway station are requested to start early to reach the railway station in time.

5. Entry restricted into Secunderabad station from the Chilkalguda junction side

General passengers/vehicles can only enter Secunderabad railway station from the Chilkalguda junction. Travelers traveling from platforms 1 to 8 are encouraged to approach Secunderabad railway station through the main entrance leading to platform no. 1. While vehicle movements between St. Johns Rotary–Sangeeth Junction–Rethifile T junction–Chilkalguda junction are prohibited, travellers are advised to take Clock Tower–Passport Office–Regimental Bazar Main Road to access the Secunderabad station’s main entrance.




POINTS OF DIVERSION FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC

1. Travel to and from Secunderabad train station (for railway passengers)

a) To get from Punjagutta to Secunderabad railway station, choose the Panjagutta–Khairtabad Junction–IMAX Rotary–Telugu Thalli flyover–Lower Tank Bund–RTC crossroad–Musheerabad crossroad–Gandhi Hospital–Chilakalguda crossroad–Platform No. 10 access route.

b) Secunderabad railway station–Old Gandhi crossroads–Monda Market–Ghasmandi–Bible House–Karbala Maidan–Tank Bund and vice versa.

c) Secunderabad railway station–Clock Tower–Patny–Bible House–Karbala Maidan–Tank Bund and vice versa.

d) Uppal–Tarnaka–Alugaddabavi–Chilkalguda crossroad–Secunderabad railway station and vice versa.

e) Avoid using routes from Secunderabad station to Patny, Paradise junction, Begumpet, and Punjagutta since they will be congested.

2. To and from the Karimnagar Highway (Rajiv Rahadhari), use the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and exit at ORR Shameerpet ORR Gate (7)

a) If you want to go to the city center, take the following routes: Medchal ORR Gate (6) –Kompally–Suchitra–Balanagar–Moosapet–Erragadda–SR Nagar–Ameerpet (Ameerpet).

b) If you want to go to Uppal, choose the Keesara ORR Gate (8)–Kushaiguda–ECIL–Moulali–Nacharam–Uppal route.

c) Visitors from Karimnagar can access the city via Tirumalagiri crossroad–left turn AS Rao Nagar–ECIL–Moulai–Tarnaka.

d) To get to or from Karimnagar, skip the Tirumulgiri crossroad–JBS route and instead use the ORR from Gachibowli/Patancheruvu/Medchal/Keesara/Ghatkesar, etc.

3. From Uppal towards Punjagutta

a) Use the road from Uppal–Ramanthapur–Amberpet–Himayathnagar–Khairtabad junction–Punjagutta.

b) Don’t use the road between Uppal–Tarnaka–Rail Nilayam as it will be heavily congested.

4. Traffic from Tarnaka/Mettuguda will be detoured at Sangeet crossroads towards Chilkalguda–Musheerabad–Kavadiguda–Lower Tank Bund–Iqbal Minar–Lakdikapul towards Panjagutta/Ameerpet.

5. Traffic heading towards Tarnaka/Uppal from Panjagutta/Ameerpet will be redirected at Panjagutta through Khairtabad - Nirankari - Old PS Saifabad - Iqbal Minar - Telugu talli fly over - Lower Tankbund - Kavadiguda - Musheerabad - Chilkalguda rotary - Mettuguda.

6. Traffic heading towards Secunderabad from Medchal/Balanagar will be redirected at Bowenpally crossroads to Dairy Farm Road–Holy Family Church–Trimulgherry–RK Puram –Neredmet–Malkajgiri–Mettuguda.

7. Traffic from Karkhana/Trimulgherry heading towards SBH–Patny will be detoured at Trimulgherry crossroads towards RK Puram–Neredmet–Malkajgiri–Mettuguda heading towards Secunderabad.

To avoid towing, the general public is asked to refer to the annexure and map for parking spots for public meetings and park vehicles only in the approved parking areas.
