Hyderabad: Residents in Pragatinagar have accused private individuals of conducting unauthorized surveys and altering lake boundaries to suit their interests.

The Pragatinagar Lakeview Colony Welfare Association urged HYDRAA to conduct an official survey and demarcate the lake limits, alleging that locals who questioned the illegal activity were being slapped with false cases.

A proper demarcation, they said, would prevent future disputes and protect public land from manipulation. This is one of the 52 complaints filed by the residents across the city during Prajavani, highlighting a wide range of unauthorized constructions and land-grabbing attempts.

Temple land, bathing corner allegedly encroached in Jagadgirigutta

Representatives of Sri Govindaraju Swamy Devasthanam reported that even land meant for temple activities and a traditional sacred bathing corner (Koneru) had been occupied illegally, seeking immediate intervention.

Sewage flow and lake encroachments near Elammakunta

Residents near Kukatpally’s Elammabanda complained about sewage from Pragatinagar entering Elammakunta due to pending drain realignment works. They demanded speedy completion and removal of structures encroaching upon the lake.

Parks and Public utility lands under threat

In Shamshabad Village and RR Nagar, locals alleged that a park and 4,794 sq. yd. community-use sites were being encroached. They sought HYDRAA’s support in restoring the land.

Residents ask for Protection of Cleared Land in Old Alwal

Ganga Avenue residents requested fencing and installation of Hydra boards for the 2,292 sq. yd. plot cleared of encroachments to prevent fresh attempts. They also reported blockage of Road No. 4 leading to Aravind Enclave due to an illegal wall.

Serilingampally Road narrowed for Shops; Govt Land misused, Say Residents

The Silicon Country Owners’ Association alleged that a 24-foot road was reduced to 16 feet because of unauthorized commercial structures. They also accused a builder of encroaching 3,320 sq. yds. of government and apartment land to construct a clubhouse.

Barricades, illegal shops trouble Amberpet & Golnaka locals

In Sri Venkateshwara Nagar Basti, residents complained of barricades blocking a public road and illegal commercial activities operating inside residential zones.
